If our 8.5" Chef knife is the "workhorse," our 7.5" Chopper is the "bull." This unique kitchen knife has the thinness and balance of a chef knife to accomplish any job but with added blade height, which helps with straight and accurate cuts. The 27.5° drop-point is not only visually appealing; it is fantastic for precision work at the tip.

What is the difference between the chopper and chef knife?

Town Cutler Chopper Knives are all-purpose kitchen knives similar to Chef knives, but with a more substantial blade height. With a 2. 5" blade height (from edge to spine), these knives are excellent for large cutting projects and rough chopping. Similar to a Japanese Bunka, our Chopper knives feature a drop-point tip (sometimes called a reverse-tanto or K-tip) that can be used for detailed and precision work at the tip, such as scoring or easily getting under the layer of fat when performing small butchering tasks.

These durable and efficient knives excel at chopping both meat and vegetables, similar to a chef's knife, but with a slightly larger blade surface area due to their taller blade height. A unique kitchen knife that is powerful and versatile, while still maintaining the precision and agility required for a high-performing, all-purpose kitchen knife.
