THE NEW TOWN CUTLER BLOG

Town Cutler is starting a blog! We love talking and sharing information on knives. The world of knives can be esoteric and intimidating, but we don't think it needs to be. We love knives and want you to love your knives too, so we're starting a blog to share information on all thing’s knives.

We'll be covering a range of topics from knife basics where we go into different knife shapes and their uses, break down the differences between carbon and stainless steel, as well as delving into some nerdy metallurgy, talk knife care and sharpening, go over the best and worst things you can do for your knives, and answer all of your knife questions! This is also the place where we’ll share updates about Town Cutler - what we’ve be up to, what’s ahead, and behind the scenes looks into the making of our knives.


For our first posts we’ll be exploring the differences between carbon and stainless steel in three parts. At the most basic level we’ll take a look at which steel might be right for you based on your cooking personality and habits. Then we’ll explore when which applications are better suited to a carbon or stainless-steel knife. Finally, we’ll get into some metallurgy!
